Boat Detailing & Waterfront Care in Sarasota
Sarasota is our home base. From Sarasota Bay and the downtown waterfront out through New Pass and Big Sarasota Pass, we work with recreational and commercial vessels of every size, plus the docks, lifts, and seawalls that connect them to the water. Local tides, summer thunderstorms, and afternoon sea breezes shape everything we schedule.

Planning notes for Sarasota
Tide and pass timing
Sarasota Bay work — especially around New Pass and Big Sarasota Pass — is easier to schedule when tides cooperate for hull access and safe approaches. We plan visits around tide charts and afternoon storm windows.
Sun, salt, and afternoon storms
Florida sun accelerates oxidation and UV damage on gelcoat, seat vinyl, and lift cradles. Summer thunderstorms also cut work windows short, so we build in weather buffers rather than promising exact times.
Marina and downtown access
Slip access at downtown marinas, restricted parking near the bayfront, and after-hours rules at some private facilities all affect scheduling. We confirm gate codes, dockmaster approvals, and utility access before we arrive.

Frequently asked in Sarasota
What parts of Sarasota do you cover?
We regularly work across downtown Sarasota, the bayfront, St. Armands, Bird Key, and the connected canals and residential waterfronts. Requests just south into Osprey and Nokomis are welcome too — mention your address on the quote form and we'll confirm.
Can you service my boat at a marina or a managed community?
Yes — with two conditions. First, you (the vessel or property owner) must authorize the visit. Second, the marina, HOA, condominium, or yacht club must approve independent mobile service, which sometimes involves vendor registration, insurance documentation, restricted service hours, safe access, and confirmed utilities. We coordinate directly with the facility when needed and will let you know if anything blocks scheduling.
Do you work on both boats and dock/waterfront surfaces on the same visit?
Often yes. If your slip, lift, and vessel are all on one property, we can bundle a wash and detail with a dock or lift cleaning during the same appointment when access and daylight allow. Describe the full scope in your quote request so we can plan accordingly.
How quickly can you respond to a quote request?
Requests submitted through the quote form receive a response within one business day. Complex jobs (commercial waterfront, restoration, marina coordination) may take an extra day while we confirm access and scope.
Are you insured, and can you send a certificate of insurance?
Yes. Sun & Shine Marine Care carries general liability coverage and can furnish a certificate of insurance to a marina, HOA, or property manager on request. Please mention the requirement in your quote so we can send documentation before the first visit.
